ABOUTThe BODHI GARDEN

The Vision
Under the Bodhi Tree in Gaya, India, Lord Buddha attained enlightenment and forever impacted the world. It is the wish of Nguoi Lam Vuon Foundation to pay tribute to this awakening… The vision is to establish a Bodhi Garden near Gaya and plant 18,000 trees as part of the Foundation’s re-forestation objective. This Bodhi Garden will comprise of bodhi trees and many other types of trees, plants, and flowers from all around the world. It is the wish of Nguoi Lam Vuon Foundation to create an environmentally friendly spiritual tourist destination for those who visit this sacred site of Gaya, India in their pilgrimage pursuit and to appreciate the symbolism of the Bodhi Tree and gardeners (nguoi lam vuon) around the world.
It is the long-term vision and wish of Nguoi Lam Vuon Foundation to scale the Bodhi Garden concept worldwide bringing the knowledge and experience from Gaya, India on a global stage towards the larger vision of executing the global re-forestation objective.
Community Impact
In addition to helping the environment, the development of the Bodhi Garden will immediately create meaningful jobs for local villagers. Living under harsh and impoverished conditions, the local people are eager to work hard and earn a living to continue supporting their families. Our support in this endeavor will have a positive lasting impact towards those villages and the children who grow up in such environments.
